My second shoot, following both tutorials of HappySoda (light and blocking light) and followed up the tips from Shino, who I think is from the lololol blog, I shot better pictures than last time. We’ll start with a little side-story about Reinforce Une.

Reinforce is a device from the tome of the night sky. Yagami Hayate, the mistress obtained her in season 2. However due certain events Reinforce Zwei (Deutsch for two) is now the new tome device.

Reinforce Zwei, does look like a chibi version of the earlier Reinforce. She made an appearance in the later season 3 (StrikerS) and we finally we see her into action as she takes on the full drive. Later on you get to know Reinforce is an unison device. Ok, I won’t spoil it, so I better stop informing about the series. At any case a screenshot of Reinforce Zwei, from StrikerS is below so we are able to compare it with the pvc version of Alter.

Together and along Fate Testarossa and Nanoha Takamachi they fight their way through the episodes in StrikerS as adult. Their viewpoint is changed but the action is spared until the last 15 episodes which will stock your grasps for sure.

More information about the three seasons is referred at the blog post Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Season 1-3. Which also provides Direct Download Links and the image boards.

So, now the review pvc figure Reinforce Zwei. In which I must say is a must have for all Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha fans. Let me convince you, having my second figure review.

I’ve changed the setup as I read the tutorial and it now looks like this.

Neat uh, the reflectors were a great idea. Two papers are of photo paper quality which reflects the sunlight pretty well. Now, let’s compare the figure to the Reinforce Zwei from the anime series. … Just looking at them, comparing the details, you probably notice, it’s perfect, not? You can even remove the cape like she does at the anime series.

I totally love the seamless floating tome. It’s really awesome, it’s attached at a hair stroke and I’ve took a good look at it. It’s correctly attached, which I mean, is strongly attached. In fact, the figure slipped from my hand and dropped a meter to the floor … Nothing was broken, however her eyes was shooting daggers at me :(.

Let us take a closer look. From this angle we do see the book attached to a single hair stroke. As I told, it looks a bit scary, but it’s really firmly attached. I’m not sure whether Reinforce is enchanting a spell or just is troubling with the sun. Let us presume she’s enchanting and calls upon her tome to do so. Pay attention the the tome details. It’s nicely crafted with seeming pages. The details follows up to have a lot of hairstrikes, beautiful hands, nicely done gloves and the nice uniform she wears. They have done an excellent job at the uniform below the waste, which really give a ‘clothes-feeling’. I can almost taste the fabric.

Two shots of the figure in full length. Having a shot from the angle where the floating tome is visibility attached and on the right side an angle where it’s invisible. You do now also clearly find the cape spreading around the body. Wrapping her up by the wind which blows in front of her. There is much motion in the figure, more than I expected earlier on.

I just found out, writing this piece of post, about the figure not standing right at the base. That’s my fault, must be blamed on rotating the figure and lacking to pay attention. Sorry guys, the site foobarbaz has good shoot of the figure standing at the base. I’m a bit lazy to shoot again.

Their legs … why are people complaining about her pair of tights uneven? I think that’s more cool than having them even. If you do want to discuss this, just pretend she probably has one tight and the other one is just a sleeve ^^. Oh look at that, HappySoda’s tutorial on reflecting light really was the effort. Thanks SuperRats.

At last the back … well not the full back since I thought that would be lousy shot. So I ended up making a shot of how the hair falls on her back. Nice to see is the hair is formed by the wind and the motion of her body. A stroke or two glides among her thighs and a single one, holding the book, stretches out in front.

Conclusion

Alter published a marvelous figure, again. Reinforce Zwei looks like the anime series, the cuteness is sprouting from it and the figure is firm. The stand does it’s work outstanding, even without putting it well at the base, the figure stands stable. It can have a drop of a meter or two and the pose is enternaning. At last I remind you of the oh so splendid seamless floating tome. I’m so happy with this figure, Nanoha fans you won’t be dissapointed.

Nice. I’ve had this for a little while now and I still think the floating book is cool.

Awesome, super rats at my site. I feel honored. I hope I once shoot as great as you. Your pictures, whatever you do, it always looks great. Thx dude.
Yes, indeed it remains cool. I’ve also pre-ordered the Hayate figure :P.

Sweet, an indoor-esque shoot in the outdoors (I\’m assuming you did the shoot outside) xD I really like this figure as well, and I\’ll probably have to get a new shelf just so she won’t be exposed to too much dust. Great that nothing happened to her after you dropped her, it would have been so painful if some part got damaged =/

Besides using paper, you might want to try using aluminum foil to reflect light onto your subject as well. The paper works fine though, but you might wanna consider adding another reflector to the left since it looks like her left has more shadows. But perhaps that was your intention so I\’ll leave it at that. Really superb work here, hope to see more photos from you! =)

To be honest, it was not my intention, I just didn’t notice. I will try the aluminum tip next time. Yes, it was outdoor to get proper light. While my backyard isn’t that all interested I’ve removed the background. Dust will always be a problem, like space ^^. Thanks dudes. Great to you guys out here. … That’s the key reading to other blog sites and mention them in the posts.
