Phobos dungeons are filled with rebels due the failure in the battle of Meridian. The creeping insects crawls forward as only food source. When a guard patrols the hallway Aldran shouts his men needs food. False laughing the guard stretches a bag of food, just out of reach of the trapped prisoners. Clanging to the steel frames of the cage, the rebels stretches for the food, pushing themselves forward. Another guard disgusts playful act, the fact the prisoners may die would not comply with Phobos.
Hold on, so Caleb thoughts must be, as he wades the castle’s moat. Aside him struggles Blunk, until he’s force to climb Caleb up the shoulder. Concerned about his health Blunk questions why he had to come along. A moment later he wished he never learned and jumps onto a vain. While bungling there a giant serpent emerges from the waters, opening his jaws to devour his meat. Caleb glances from his shoulder and breaks the hatch which seals the entrance of the prison chambers.
Cornelia shivers and tells Will, who came along the road, she’s worried about Caleb. Friendly Will shakes her worries away, it’s just another reckon mission. They remain to discuss the matter for a short time. Matt appears and Cornelia takes off, leaving the ‘lovers’ alone. Matt carries a box which contains a squirrel, later on named to Hoggles. He also has another present… When will gets home she finds an upset Taranee, who was supposed to support her with the homework. However the little squirrel has a super healing effect. Still, being ensured Will takes care, Susan (Will’s mother) isn’t too happy about it.
Heatherfield is such a nice place. Caleb in meanwhile did not manage to resolve the maze and ends up again and again at the start. He has to hurry, since Miranda was sent by Phobos to get the trespassers. In the far distance, they hear her scream. Finding a huge catapult at the start position they hurl themselves to safety. However, the struggle goes on when Cedric and Phobo’s guards awaits them outside.
They get to the portal and Caleb climbs the road. As soon as he’s in Heatherfield he grabs to road to pull up Blunk, but the line is broken and Blunk is vanished. Quickly Caleb runs to for help and stumbles upon Will who was talking to Matt, now being left behind. The guardians are quickly united and a hour of few they locate the calamity.
Blunk suddenly jumps out the air. He did heard the W.I.T.C.H.es shouting for him, but Caleb actually was sorrow for him. Their happiness however is a short time, they quickly discover Morphines, which are scorpion like creatures. A single stench will make you sleep for 24 hours.
Unlucky, one of them somehow grabs Taranee ankles in the thin air and stabs her.
Alarmed by the cries of the other girls, Cedric spots them in the near plains. As the W.I.T.C.H.es remarks their approach they make their way to escape when suddenly a wounded castle guard cries for help.
Frighted of Phobos cure, he decides it’s better to trust the W.I.T.C.H.es. In protest of Caleb they pull up the guard along with a sleeping Taranee to home, Heatherfield.
At home, Will’s home to be correct, we find a sleeping Taranee in Will’s bed and a castle guard in the laundry, which is obvious not a creepy dungeon as the guard thought. The day passes quickly and Taranee wakes up, as told, from her deeply slumber. Will plays Tarnee, joking she spoke the true to her parents. Laughing she tells, ‘boy, you were SLEEPING over!’.
A non effective night for Caleb passed over. The guards had stopped searching but their trespassing is disturbed by Cheek, another passling whose dirties the name. Blunk, is furious, how come a passling filthy their name to help Phobos.
Troublesome Will, Hay Lin and Taranee quickly hides Daynar, the guard in the laundry as Will’s mother comes to inquire whatever happened to the bag of dormouse food. Will arguments it’s not the dormouse, who’s living at Irma’s place for now. When Daynar accidentally burps, Taranee excuses and tells she eat. Unbelievable Susan (Will’s mother) frowns her eyes and Will quickly pushes the door criticizing what happens without potato chips.
Finding the W.I.T.C.H.es really taken care for the guard, he gets conscious about the ‘real’ other world. Phobos described it as a demon world, in no which living things could bare the days alive.
Understanding he was being cheated, he switches sides and informs them about a secret alley to the prison. Ofcourse Caleb doesn’t find it amusing to get along his plan, but on the end they manage to get into the prison unnoticed.
Taranee, Caleb, Blunk and Dayner are inside, the others are shaping a distraction outside to make some fuss. Luckily our trespassers find the prison guard fast a sleep and is swiftly taken care of. Bonded Dayner tells the guard about the lies about Earth, he also tells to spread the word. Caleb grins, after they make their escape he adds.
However he shouldn’t be too careless. Will, Irma, Hay Lin and Cornelia manages to avoid the arrows and axes thrown at them. Still, when the princess arrives, Elyon, they’re chances slims to zero. Elyon, at the heart of her powers, bestows a spell on the roots, which floats the sky and imprisons the four guardians. This is noticed by Phobos, who quickly connects the fact of being distracted and sends the guards to the dungeon.
The escape is far advanced but they still need to climb the stairway down, which is now filled with guards. Praying Taranee trusts Will she gets on time and orders the man to jump. Daynar who wants to set his statement and fully respects the leaders of his new side, jumps as first, into the moats, hundred of feets below. The rebels follows, alongside Blunk and Caleb while Taranee prays until she dies.
Suddenly a blue crack glimmers from the bottom of the moat and a shiny glow of seablue light welcomes Taranee tears. Dancing in light, the portal glances in the moat as it sucks the escaping party inside. Then she and the four other guardians flees through the portal. Unfortunate unseen perused by a passling.
Snow flutters from the sky as the dawn sets in. Overwhelming golden rays of light sets Heatherfield into a beautiful living city as the lake in front reflects the sight once again. Safe and free the rebels shouts with joy, especially when Hay Lin invites them to eat. Yan Lin, a former guardian and grandmother of Hay Lin would understand.
Proud Caleb shows his father, who says Heatherfield more beautiful than you ever decribed. Will celebrates the fact with Matt…
Difference in the comic: Hoggles is in the comic named to Eky. The squirrel, in the comic was found wounded at the roots of a tree. Probably dropped and because of it woke up in mid-winter, (a disturbed hibernation), the squirrel is confused. Will finds the squirrel, together with Matt. There she meets Matt and starts the relationship, together they take the squirrel to safety.
