In Meridian Caleb is being chased after succesfully raiding weapons of Phobos castle. Together with Aldarn his best friend he manages to lose their pursuers. Using kind of Hoogongs (kind of giant chickes, chocobo’s as Final Fantasy Fans would say).
At earth in Heatherfield Hay Lin starts to become aware of her powers. She just sneezed all her furniture in her room aside. When she questions her grand mother Yan Lin she finds out her grand mother hides something in the closet. (see picture 3). Yan Lin ask her to invite her friends at their restaurant the ‘Silver Dragon’ instead of an answer. At school she meets, together with her friends Irma, Cornelia, Taranee and Irma, the new girl Will. Though Will is new, she’s being invited by Hay Lin. Back at the restaurant the four friends discuss about their weird experiences and finds out they all have them in exception of Will.
It’s time for Yan Lin to passes her duty as former gaurdian to the new generation. She explains the unusual experience she and her friends has and their meeting isn’t coincidence. They become Gaurdians of the Veil, protecting the two worlds Earth and Meridian. They need to close portals (gateways between the worlds) through which evil crosses and able to enter their world. She also tells them about the rebels in Meridian fighting for their country figthing Phobos.
Irma gains the power of water, Tarananee poorly over fire (she’s afraid of fire), Cornelia masters the earth and Hay Lin obtains the power of Air. Leaving Will the task as leader and keeper of the Heart of Kandrakhar. A crystal which magnifies the friends power and above all allow them to transform in Gaurdians of the Veil. Cornelia think up to flee but it’s no use, still it seems Hay Lin glooms away and Irma think it’s totally awesome.
In meanwhile Caleb seperates his way with Aldarn and closes in the next portal. The rumor goes the rightfull princess who shall restore peace went hiding at Earth. While having the rumor in mind he encounters a giant snake like creature who listens to the name Cedric. As soon as Will weared the Heart a signal went off in prince Phobos room and he saw Will thinking she’s they key to find his sister (the princess) and dispatched Cedric to find her.
At Earth the five friends assembles underneath a bridge to discover their obtained powers. Will brings the Heart of Kandrakhar to her chest and unites the Gaurdians. “Gaurdians unite” she shouts out and they transforms. They unbelieveble stare each other and they discovers the wings on their back which gives them the ability to fly. As Hay Lin thinks its totally awesome, Taranee disguss it. Looks like she hates flying like fire as well. However she might be to serious about it.
As Hay Lin takes the sky and air borns the other gaurdians meets their powers. When Taranee tries her fire she finds the true nature of fire, when Irma tries to put it out with water she hits Cornelia. When she tries her power she finnaly flees. As they all have discoverd their powers Will decides to call it a day and weares off their powers. When she does Hay Lin drops down from the sky, finding her way in the trash.
As they start to return home Hay Lin discovers their first portal while she tries to stand up. Then a young fellow jumps out escaping from a giant snake like creature. They all are stunned and shouts Will has to close the portal. Still the creature grabs the poor man and they need to stun back the creature.
They unite their powers to stun back the creature returning it with the man to the other world. As they messed up saving the man they close the portal and walk straight back home.
