To Aru Majutsu no Index 3, The Church of Necessary Evil (Necessarius)

Bloods drops off as Touma dragged Index to Tsukuyomi Komoe the last episode. As Touma wanders the street, blaming himself for being cursed with his right arm, Index struggles for life. The Index’s John’s Pen (index library mode) is still active as she guides Komoe through her healing process.

Consulting the constellations and time Index is able to regenerate her body with Komoe’s help. Komoe watches as Index gets up her feet and draws a magic circle with her own blood on the table. She grabs a pair of dolls, a few books and other stuff and places these on the table. On the end, the table represents the room.

Toaru Majutsu no Index-tan is a mini episode which makes fun of their own series. The mini episode is comparable with the small Shakugan no Shana-tan episode. It has even so much similarities, Index-tan have to mention the their and Shana publishers are the same. Then she starts to jam the head with her feet yelling ’shut up’, which is too much Shana-Tan .  The episode just 8 minutes and is only fun if you have been watching the series.

To Aru Majutsu no Index 2, Innocentius, The witch hunting rope

When Touma reaches the floor of his apartment he finds Index covered in blood. Confused Touma tells her to hold on while he search for clues who ever did this. However the magicians found Touma instead. They tell Index made the mistake to return the his place to get her hood. She probably caught up when Touma wasn’t home, so she only endangered herselves. Mad the magician tells her robe, the walking church, didn’t rendered the magic effective. With this Touma realized he had broken the robe’s magic (in the previous episode).

Times run out and talking is over. The magician, named Stiyl Magnus or Fortis931, just want to recover the 103,000 grimoires and get away. Obvious Touma remain in his way and the magician answers to channel magic and throw a fireball. Unremarkable he finds Touma, alive and unscratched afterwards. Mad he finaly realizes Touma is a kind of match after all. Driven by his superior position Magnus summons ‘Innocentius’. A firelord, cradled with fire and an upper body which is dark as night comes forth. Screaming like a wild beast he spread his claws and slashes to Touma.

To Aru Majutsu no Index 1, Academy City

In the first scene we find our hero loosing a mob. Running he screams ’such misfortune!!’. It reminded me a bit of Keichi from “Ah My Goddess!” which had a lot of misfortune himself too. Urm, at any case, the boy, Kamijou Touma, had found these bunch of guys harassing a girl. He attempted to warn to boys to do not provoke hér. Unfortunately they didn’t get his hints, instead they thought he wanted to help her and now picks on him. They are a terrible group after all.

When Touma stumbles upon a bridge he looks over his shoulder but instead of the the pursuers he finds the the girl. Annoyed she asks why as a ‘good’ Samaritan he warned the delinquents. Staring the boy she continues her speech and takes out a coin from her pocket. Overconfidently she rolls it among her fingers. Finding herself superior of her position she explains the term ‘Railgun’, a super electromagnetic cannon. Then she flips the coin and throws it up in the air. Next a lighting strikes just a foot ahead from Touma as a demonstration of it’s destructible force unleashed by the girl.

Plot

In a world full of espers and supernatural powers, magical powers are still out of question. However, soon our here Touma will discover the existence of magic. He is the who finds Index. Index, a little girl drooping on Touma’s balcony fence. This girl got a perfect memorization, which allows her to remember every single drop of rain that falls, any leaves on trees and all faces she sees.

This remarkable ability is misused by her society , the church. They forced her to learn 103,000 forbidden grimoirs. Grimoirs are forbidden books containing powerful spells.  At the end, the church burned all copies, making Index the last library to the forbidden grimoirs.

Remembering those 103,000 forbidden books makes her a potent target for all who seek power.

Index, however, is optimistic and has powerful will to survive. Realized she will destroy any lives she contacts with, she decides to almost life in seclusion.

When Touma discovers the fact he cannot accept her fate and starts to make a life with Index. Using his own rare ability to dismantle esper and magic powers, he will be her guardian. As he learns of her deceivement he is willing to put his life to risk and safe her. Will it be enough, to safe Index, or is there more?
